Proactol XS – the latest fat binder from Proactol (Replaced Proactol Plus)

Proactol XS – the latest fat binder from Proactol (Replaces Proactol Plus)

Proactol XS fat binderProactol XS is a fat binder – that is, a dietary supplement that works by convincing your body that the fat you are eating is not for digestion, and therefore not absorbed or stored as excess body fat.

Not only does the body stop absorbing the fat, but Proactol XS will also help to suppress appetite, so people feel full up for longer. As the body will stop absorbing a great deal of fat, cholesterol levels will also be reduced with regular use of the capsules.

The product is approved by Halal and Kosher authorities, and is perfectly safe for consumption by vegans. Anyone taking Proactol XS capsules should note that it is only fat that is absorbed, and the regular nutrition and vitamins which food provides will still be digested by your body in the same way.

How does it work?

The process starts when you take two capsules before your meal. When you are eating, the fat in your food will interact with the capsules you have just taken, forming a gel-like substance that leaves your body unable to digest the fat. The capsules can store up to 800 times their weight, and promises to be up to a third more effective than competing brands of fat binders.

Capsules can be taken up to three times a day, and must only be taken with meals. The manufacturers advise drinking plenty of water when taking the capsules, to allow them to travel into the stomach quickly, where they will begin to work as soon as your food has begun digestion. Customers must never chew the capsules, and they should be swallowed before they begin to dissolve in the mouth for the ingredients to work as intended.

What is the medical evidence?

Proactol XS has been certified as a Class IIA medical device, having passed the necessary medical testing requirements. The product is made from just a few natural ingredients, and is produced in Europe where quality control standards are at their highest. There have been more than forty medical studies on the Proactol XS capsules,

What is the media exposure?

The media has reacted positively to the Proactol XS capsules, with various review websites confirming the manufacturer’s claims of being more effective than other brands of fat binder. A simple Google search will bring up hundreds of websites which have used and reviewed the product. There are lots of social media comments on Facebook and Twitter reviewing and sharing experiences of the capsules, which may be more reliable than any media coverage of the product.

Are there any possible side effects?

As with any new product you are considering adding to your diet, a medical professional should be consulted. The vast majority of people should have few or no side effects from taking the capsules on a regular basis, but perhaps the most common side effect would be possible constipation. As the capsules are absorbing fat, you should make sure that you are eating a healthy diet with lots of fibre to help your body digest the remaining food to help with bowel movements.

The European Union has certified the product, and it uses 100% natural ingredients, which means that it can be trusted as part of a healthy diet and weight loss regime.

Is there a guarantee?

Absolutely! They provide a 30-day money back guarantee on any of the Proactol XS products. If you don’t find that the capsules help, or you simply don’t want to continue taking them, you can return the product and receive a full refund without any trouble.

Batch 5 Fat Burner Review

Batch5 Extreme Thermogenic Fat Burner

Batch5 reviewBatch5 is a thermo-genic fat burner that is shrouded in mystery.  There is very little direct information out there about it from the company itself.

The company website does not even return in a standard web search. Pictures of the bottle reveal capsules. Unfortunately, any further information there is to be had is only readily available through second hand sources.

This is a warning sign for diet consumers wishing to perform due diligence. Claims about this product state it will suppress appetite, boost metabolic rate, increase energy, and increase stamina. So, one can’t help but wonder: what is this supplement all about and is it worth it?

There appear to be many positive reviews on Amazon, these do look very suspicious according to one source. The Company behind Batch 5 also produce Batch 3 and Batch 7

Key Ingredients

According to a second party online retailer, Batch5 contains Garcinia Cambogia. On the same site in a user question and answer section, an unknown user listed the other ingredients as vitamin b6, chromium amino asic chelate, + a blend of garcinia extract, guarana seed extract, citrus aurantium, white willow extract, cayenne pepper, green tea extract, l-carnitine, dandelion root and uva ursi.

This second hand information could contain errors, and diligent potential customers should be aware of this. There is no further information on the amounts or concentrations of any of these ingredients, nor is there any way to know if the user who posted the information was thorough, or even if their spelling was correct.

While some of these ingredients have shown some promise in other weight-loss products, there is no way of knowing whether or not Batch5 contains an effective dose. Buyer beware.

Interesting Batch5 Fact

Uva Ursi  is colloquially referred to as  bear’s grape because bears are apparently very fond of the fruit. When used in combination with peppermint and hops it has been known to be a treatment for chronic bedwetting.

Any success stories

There are many testimonials for Batch5 to be found on the web, but they all come from nameless, faceless reviews on retail websites. Since there is nothing official from the company, though, so those claims are dubious at best.

Any Side Effects

Always consult your healthcare professional before starting any dietary supplement. Pregnant or nursing women should not take this product.

There are many online claims that the ingredients in this product produce no side effects. However, many of the ingredients listed in fact have various side effects and drug interactions. Here are some of the more serious ones, but this should by no means be considered an exhaustive list:

Guarana– very unsafe due to caffeine content, and when used in combination with caffeine. Implicated in everything from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) to heart disease and osteoporosis. Interacts with Amphetamines, cocaine, ephedrine, antibiotics, lithium and MAOI’s (used to treat depression and other mood disorders).

Citrus Aurantium, better known as Bitter Orange – This popular ephedra-replacement is very controversial due to its high potential for dangerous side effects.  The medical community specifically warns against its use in combination with caffeine, as it appears here. It has been known to cause side effects ranging from headaches to high blood pressure to stroke and death.

L-carnitine – Can cause gastrointestinal upset and has been known to impart a fishy odour to breath, urine and sweat. Makes hypothyroidism (under-performing thyroid disease) worse and worsens seizures in people susceptible to seizures. Interacts with Acenocoumarol (Sintrom), warfarin and thyroid hormone.

Bottom Line… Is It Recommended

Short answer: No.

The lack of direct, transparent information from the manufacturer should be a red flag warning to potential consumers. In fact, this product should only be purchased by people with more money than sense, and who enjoy playing Russian roulette with their dietary supplements. This lack of information is particularly concerning because the product is sold through second party retailers. Consumers have no official way of knowing what they are getting, how they should take it, and how long they should stay on it without first purchasing it..

Additionally, the fact that consumers have nothing to go on but word of mouth advice about side effects is potentially very dangerous. A company that values their customers would care enough to at least provide safety information.

Batch5 is a product so vague in its marketing that it borders on being irresponsible. It is hard to imagine a consumer that would be so desperate as to completely disregard such a glaring lack of information. This proves that the company is only interested in making sales and not in supporting or enhancing the health of their customers. Furthermore, the average cost per bottle ranges between $35 and $43. That’s quite a lot for consumers to spend without really knowing what they are getting into.
