Lean Extreme – Benefits, positives and negatives with customer feedback
The company has recently been accepted into the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), so it should come as no surprise to learn the formulation is entirely herb-based, and AHPA members have to adhere to rigorous quality standards, so Lean Extreme appears to have a lot of points in its favour.
But quality products do not always produce quality results so this alone should not be seen as a definitive endorsement of the products capabilities.
Advertised and Potential Benefits
- Cortisol control support
- Maintain mass
- No Jitter fat loss support
- Promotes optimal thyroid and testosterone output
The Benefits in Focus
Whenever the body is placed under stress, such as during training, the adrenal glands release a hormone called cortisol that can interfere with correct protein synthesis and further enhance the breakdown of muscle tissue. As far as muscle growth goes it is a counterproductive situation, so if Lean Extreme lives up to Driven Sports’ claims it has a lot of potential.
Bodybuilders and other athletes often have difficulty maintaining muscle mass, especially during cutting cycles; so once again, the formulation shows promise.
Many supplements contain stimulants that can cause the jitters, Lean Extreme is stimulant free.
Thyroid health is essential for an efficient metabolism, and testosterone can boost both performance and muscle growth.
In theory the formulation may have merit, but in reality everything depends on the ingredients that are used.
All of the ingredients used are housed in a proprietary blend, so individual ratios are not available, but each (455mg) capsule provides unspecified amounts of:
- Green Tea Extract (leaf): Research shows green tea can instigate the fat burning process. It is also rich in antioxidants that can boost the overall health and protect against many diseases, including cancer.
- Salvia Miltiorrhiza (root) (15-hydramax™): A trademarked ingredient that has been included to help control cortisol levels. How well it will perform is anybody’s guess, at the present moment in time adequate proof of its abilities is lacking.
- Forskohlii (root): An ingredient that is credited with numerous abilities, including the regulation of thyroid activity. It also allegedly has the power to protect muscle mass, but supporting evidence leaves much to be desired and many experts state further study is warranted.
- Phosphatidylserine: An important phospholipid membrane component that is found in meats and white beans. Some studies suggest it can enhance post exercise recovery and improve cognitive function, but a dose of less than 400mg has been proven to be ineffective and it seems likely the inclusion rate here will be much less.
- 7b-hydroxy, 17b-dihydro DHEA (5-AT™): A patent-protected ingredient that mimics a hormone found in the body. It is believed to function like an antioxidant and enhance immune system capabilities. Driven Sports also suggest it can function as a cortisol controller, but clinical evidence is lacking.
- Black Pepper Extract (fruit) (BioPerine): Another patent-protected ingredient. This one has been included to help boost the absorption of the other ingredients, but it also has thermogenic fat burning abilities.
Lean Xtreme Customer Feedback
A few customers state the product failed to live up to their expectations, but the majority of reviews are very good.
A few sample comments read:
Possible Lean Xtreme Side Effects
Some customers state they experienced upset stomachs or skin rashes, but most users seem to tolerate the product well.
Pregnant or breast feeding mothers should never use any brand of dietary supplement. People who have existing health issues or are taking medication should seek medical advice prior to beginning supplementation.
Purchasing Options & Considerations
Lean Extreme can be purchased from Amazon and a number of online stores, but it may be easier to purchase directly from the Driven Sports website. Each bottle retails at USD$ 56.99, but discounts are common, so USD$ 49.19 is the price most customers are likely to pay.
Although we are not going to discredit Lean Xtreme too much we feel there are better options available.

Lipozene Review – Is it really the No1 diet pill in the US
The official website claims that ….”You can continue to eat your favorite foods” – “No change in exercise is required”
The company also claims to have sold over 20 million bottles of Lipozene and state it is “America’s no. 1 diet pill”.
Lipozene is easily purchased in the United States and Canada but more problematic (direct) in countries such as Australia. Scroll to the bottom of this review for information on how to buy Lipozene In Australia.
Lipozene Pros and Cons
|Provides an adequate quantity of a proven appetite suppressant.||Lack of a complete ingredient profile|
|Money back guarantee||Allegations of misleading marketing claims|
|Some customers state the product works||Some customers state the product does not work|
Manufacture & Distribution
Lipozene is manufactured in America by Obesity Research LLC. The majority of sales are made via the Lipozene website or Amazon.com and the company appears to concentrate its marketing efforts on Canada and the US.
Obesity Research LLC is a well-established company, but recently opted to pay an out of court settlement relating to allegations of misleading marketing statements. Source: http://www.oriclassactionlawsuit.com/
How the Formulation Works
Lipozene is designed to work as an appetite suppressant.
Weight gain and weight loss are both directly influenced by the amount of calories that are consumed and burned each day to provide energy. The average man requires around 2,500 calories each day (2,000 for women) and if the food eaten each day were to provide a similar amount of calories the present weight would be maintained. However, when people consume more calories than they need the extra calories are stored as body fat.
These fat stores remain until under-eating or an increased exercise level causes a lack of calories that is sufficient to initiate the fat burning process. So if someone was to only consume 1,500 calories per day, for instance, the body would be forced to burn fat because the amount of dietary-provided calories would be too low to maintain normal function. Cutting down on food can be hard though. Appetite suppressing formulations usually contain one or more ingredients that can (supposedly) help dieters to cut down on food without having to experience constant hunger pangs.
Lipozene contains only one active ingredient. It’s called glucomannan and a number of studies show it works.
What is Glucomannan?
Glucomannan is a form of soluble fiber obtained from the roots of an Asian plant. When exposed to water or other liquids the fibres quickly absorb the moisture and expand in the stomach, causing it to feel too full to eat much food. The ingredient is very popular with dieters and supplement manufacturers alike, so Lipozene is not by any means the only glucomannan product on the market.
According to the Lipozene website two capsules provide 1,500mg of glucomannan and some studies indicate this should be an effective dose. A full ingredient profile is not provided though, so it is possible the capsules may contain additional ingredients.
The Lipozene website mentions an independent study conducted on “Lipozene’s exclusive formula”, where study participants apparently lost weight without making changes to their daily lifestyle. No obvious links to this study are provided, but the site adequately references several studies that were conducted on glucomannan.
In one eight-week study, the results of which were published in the International Journal of Obesity (1984), the participants were given 1,000mg of glucomannan, three times each day, before eating their meals. They were also given strict instructions to refrain from making any changes to their normal routine (diet, level of exercise). After eight weeks the mean weight loss recorded was 5.5lbs.
How to Use Lipozene
Two (750mg) capsules should be swallowed with 8oz. of water half-an-hour to an hour before eating a meal. A maximum of six capsules are permissible each day.
The manufacturer states no change in lifestyle is required, but anyone who burns off more calories via regular exercise is bound to attain improved results and healthy food choices are always preferable to unhealthy ones.
Customer Feedback & Testimonials
The Lipozene website provides some customer comments and video testimonials that suggest Lipozene is an effective weight loss product. One woman claims to have lost 90lbs. in 12 months, but the site’s small-print provides a disclaimer that points out the results obtained are not typical and were attained by using the capsules in combination with diet and exercise. The disclaimer also reveals the individuals in question were paid for their time.
The fact that Lipozene is also available via Amazon.com has allowed for a great deal of customer feedback and many Amazon customers are less than bowled-over by the product.
One customer states:
Although positive reviews are vastly outnumbered by the negative ones, a great many customers do report satisfactory results, as indicated by the sample comments below.
Lipozene Potential Side Effects
The manufacturers state there are no reported side effects, but many Amazon reviewers state the capsules made them feel unwell.
Reported side effects include:
- Increased stool frequency
- Increased appetite/weight gain
Pregnant or nursing mother are advised against taking any form of weight loss supplement. People with existing health issues should consult their doctor prior to commencing supplementation.
Where To Buy Lipozene
Lipozene is available via the Amazon marketplace, but customers based in Australia (or outside of the US and Canada) will probably find it easiest to purchase capsules from the official Lipozene website. Shipping is normally free and all purchases are protected by a 30 day money back guarantee.
Each bottle contains sufficient capsules for one month and costs around AUD$ 40. This is not particularly cheap for such a simple formulation, but the manufacturers generally throw in a second bottle of Lipozene free of charge, along with a complimentary bottle of their MetaboUP Plus metabolism boosting pills.
